Green Warrior Nutrition Part 1

So you wanna be fit and healthy?

If you want to be fit and healthy there are some things you need to know green warrior. First, To understand your body and your metabolism and how it regenerates and burns fat and builds muscle properly you have to understand some of its basic mechanics.

To do all of these functions it requires the environment inside your body and your muscles to be an alkaline environment. Alkaline foods are all plant based foods.

Acidic environments create a breeding ground for not only diseases but poor muscle growth and restoration and bad fat storing. Acidic foods are all animal based foods.

So from this its clear which you should be eating and what you should be avoiding.

You NEED nutrition!

And by the way you need more than protein. Although protein is a significant nutrient, the actual digestion, absorption and utilization of protein to build and repair muscle and shed bad fat is only possible when your micro nutrients are in check.

Micro Nutrients? Yep. Vitamins and Minerals my peeps. Phytonutrients, Antioxidants AND probiotics!

Probiotics are also key because without them you can't digest and absorb anything! (probiotics we'll talk more on that later)

Eating even what I eat I need put some extra good stuff in my body.

Because of how nutrient deficient our soil is you'd have to each 3 and 4 times as many servings in fruits and veggies to get the nutrient content your body needs.

One great way I help this is with shakes. http://bitly.com/GreenWarriorShakes

Your Muscles need help!

Shakes are not just great nutrition for meal replacements or between meals they actually have enough necessary nutrients to improve your workouts and make recovery after a workout faster and easier.

When you workout, no matter if your lifting weights, running or swimming, your muscles tear. They tear and then rebuild themselves. Thats your bodies natural process. Working out helps you build and define muscle the way you want. It burns calories and burns fat even after your done working out.

To help your muscles do this efficiently You need nutrients, Macro and Micro nutrients.

Macronutrients and Micronutrients
Whats a macro nutrient? Protein, carbs, fats (good fats)...

Whats a micro nutrient? Vitamins, minerals....

PLEASE DON'T do this...

DONT skip meals. Starving yourself only adds to the problem. Your body will go into a state of emergency believing that it will not receive food for a long time so it will store fat instead from what ever you do eat trying to save itself. This is survivor mode and when your body enters this state cortisol is produced.

***Cortisol is a nasty little hormone produced by your endocrine system. Your adrenal glands pump you full of cortisol when your body is in a state of stress. Cortisol creates acidity and keeps bad fat where its at and multiplying.

DONT calorie count. You do not need to do this when you are consuming nutritionally dense alkaline foods. Restricting good calories that are high in nutrients deprives your body of much needed nutrients and energy and actually keeps the fat on. Its causes the same affect as starving so even if you see some minor results in the beginning you will inevitably not only put the weight back on but put on even more than you had before.

Welcome! To the Beginning..

I am the Green Warrior and you can be one too!

First for legal purposes I need to state that I am not a physician nor a certified nutritionist or any other  kind of certified professional who's allowed to dish out shitty information and corporate bullshit propaganda for any of these companies and industries that seek to gain from our illnesses and demise.  Everything I write about in the blog is about my own personal experiences, the experiences of people I know and the information and research that I have carefully been studying and testing on myself for years. Now that were finished with the mandatory "disclaimer", let's get to work.

I am a 29 year old single mom of a kick ass 7 year old. She's awesome! (yea I'm pretty proud) I'm also a film actress living in hollywood. While I continue to pursue my career in film and tv I also developed a huge passion for health and fitness and helping others. I enjoy all things fitness and have always been involved in sports and dance since I was kid. My health was not always of big importance though and as a result that look its toll on my body.

I developed several of what I call "health opportunities" 2 of which are Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. I was unable to walk, sit up unassisted or grasp things in my hands and gained uncontrollable weight. I was told a wheelchair was in my near and permanent future.I could not work anymore. I lost my home and became homeless with my daughter. My car got repossessed and basically all hell broke loose. Worst of all I could not pick up my precious little girl anymore.

After seeing my mother cure herself of terminal cancer with natural treatments I knew taking a more active interest in my health had to be first in order for me to prevail. I began to eat clean and develop my mind and attitude and start taking small steps in fitness. I’ve lost over 30 lbs so far and dropped 4% body fat just in the last week alone. I can not only sit up and walk, I can run and I haven’t been able to do that in years. Best of all I can pick my daughter up and hold her again.

I have control over my health opportunities. Because of this I do not take for granted my health and fitness anymore. Since I have learned to value myself and my health I have a passion and a desire to help others see their own value and achieve their own goals. So I am excited to be a part of that change and be a part of a revolution in health and fitness and to show others that impossible is just a word and failure is a stepping stone to success. ANYTHING is possible!

So no matter what your story is or what you've been through or what you are going through right now, I know from personal experience, you CAN do this!
